Bangkok Sky Train or locally known as BTS has proven
to be the fastest and most reliable mode of transportation
for city dwellers and tourists who want to get around
Bangkok. Though its route does not cover all the tourist
areas, it has its reach in several business areas and
shopping centers. If the destination is a bit off the
train route, it is still convenient to take the train
and then hop into a bus, taxi, motorbike-taxi or walking.
Route map is available at any train station.
Skytrain transfer to boat cruise along the Chao
Phraya River
During weekdays, the traffic condition in this city
of Angels is continually congested from early morning
to the end of the day. Another commuting alternative
to access the attraction sites within the old city area
is the Chao Phraya Tourist Boat service. The boat route
is connected with BTS Skytrain at Saphan Taksin station.
The pier is just a 5-minute walk to the ferry dock.
Get yourself a one -day river pass (THB75) and hop around
Bangkok’s riverside attractions with unlimited
boat trips for the whole day – the pass comes
with the Chao Phraya River traveling guidebook and a
bottle of water. Boats leave the piers every 30 minute
from 9.30 am to 3 pm daily.
There is a guide on board who will brief you about
the attractions nearby such as Yaowaraj (China Town),
Wat Arun, Wat Po, the Grand Palace, Temple of the Emerald
Buddha, Royal Barge Museum and Khao San Road.
The One Day River Pass is available at BTS Tourist
Information Centers (Siam, Nana and Saphan Taksin stations),
Maharaj Pier, Sathorn Pier, Oriental Pier, Ratchawongse
Pier, Wang Lang Pier and Banglumpoo Pier.
